Our Brand - from our family to yours

"Our brand umewe took shape during my pregnancy, a time filled with new thoughts and wishes for our little family. That’s when the idea grew to create clothing that is soft, practical and long-lasting – made from natural materials and crafted with great care in Europe. Pieces that make babies feel comfortable and support parents in everyday life. For me, umewe also means finding balance between family and work. What I love most is that our son gets to see this ‘second baby’ grow from the very beginning.“

The name umewe [juː miː wiː] stands for “you, me, we.” Three little words that represent something much bigger to us: from individuals grows togetherness. From you and me, a we – a family.

Because that’s what truly matters, our pieces are made with great care and love in small, family-run workshops across Europe – fair, responsible and with a deep respect for quality and origin.

We choose our materials with the same mindfulness: primarily natural fibers, thoughtfully complemented by recycled or bio-based alternatives. Everything we use is chosen to be kind to the skin – and kind to the planet – for the wellbeing of the little ones and peace of mind for their grown-ups.

In our private life, too, we rely on natural materials for our son – because they’re durable, gentle on the skin and free from harmful substances. Our favorite fiber is ultra-fine merino wool: naturally temperature-regulating, silky soft and perfect for sensitive baby skin.

With umewe, we want to create clothing that lasts. Pieces to be loved, worn, and passed on – cherished companions full of memories, ready to be shared from one child to the next, from one generation to another.
